International Scholarships Program

Since 2004, Total has funded students – more than 1000 to date – to continue their studies abroad, through the Total International Scholarship Program. Through this initiative, students from around the world get the chance to pursue their higher education studies, mainly in France, find out about Total, learn about the energy industry and also experience working in a cross-cultural environment.

Find out more about the program here.

Each year, students from around the world are selected on merit as Total International Scholars. Before entering degree courses which are given in French and/or English, these students receive six months of French language classes to improve their language skills and help them quickly integrate into their graduate studies

At the end of their experience, Total Scholars return to their home countries. Our aim is to foster the next generation of energy leaders and innovators, for the benefit of their countries and the global energy industry, and to create a worldwide network of former scholarship recipients – our ‘Total Alumni’.

You can read about some of our Total Scholars here.

Please note that applications for the Total International Scholarships Program are managed directly by our main Total affiliates. The application process varies by country, with affiliates and/or universities communicating directly to students about selection for this program. There may be additional scholarship opportunities offered by the affiliate in your country of origin, which will also be advertised at the relevant times.

Regional and local Scholarships

Additionally, we offer a range of other scholarships and grants, available at regional and local level. Regional scholarships are awarded to students studying at post-secondary institutions in their home country or on the same continent.

You can also find out about other scholarships for students specializing in energy via our corporate website here.
